Capri

"If God had not done Capri, how imperfect his work would be!"
(Fabrizio Caramagna)

Where is the island of Capri

Capri is an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea located in the Gulf of Naples, opposite the Sorrento Peninsula, in the Campania region. A wide range of ferries and hydrofoils departing from Naples and Sorrento, allows tourists to visit the island all year round.

The sailing time from Naples is about an hour, while from Sorrento only half an hour. During the summer there are also connections to Ischia, Salerno, Positano and Amalfi.

Which area to choose for a holiday on Capri

Capri has two municipalities: Capri and Anacapri.
In the first town you will find the historic ‘Piazzetta‘ and the exclusive Via Camerelle, the hub of Capri, where you can immerse yourself in luxury boutiques, bars and nightclubs. Here there is also the Cathedral of Santo Stefano, with its famous bell tower, inside which is kept the silver bust of San Costanzo, patron saint of Capri.

“Capri and Anacapri. Different and opposed, the first exposed, the other reserved, one more worldly, the other artistic vocation, we could say, one to the taste of champagne and the other of limoncello, one more built, the other artisanal”.
(Michela Tamburrino)

How to get to Piazzetta Capri?

It’s very simple! Just take the funicular from Marina Grande, where the port is located. In Marina Grande there is also the most suitable beach on Capri for children. On the opposite side, there is Marina Piccola, where you can enjoy the other wonderful Capri beach.

How do I get to Anacapri?

You can reach it by bus that always leaves from Marina Grande or from the center of Capri.
It is the highest municipality on the island, with the peak of Monte Solare. Here there are no beaches, but exclusive establishments on the rocks at the lighthouse of Punta Carena and Gradola, near the Blue Grotto. The center of Anacapri is largely pedestrian and is characterized by the high concentration of excellent restaurants, where you can taste the typical specialties

What to do on Capri

You cannot go to Capri without admiring the majestic Faraglioni and the caves of the island from the sea!
A boat tour around the island is therefore the first activity to be marked on the list of things to do on Capri.

From the sea to the mountains: after the magic of the tour by sea, we recommend you take a trip on the chairlift on Monte Solare, then take the Pizzolungo path along the Natural Arch, visit the Gardens of Augustus and the adjacent Via Krupp, and admire the Certosa di San Giacomo.

Do not miss a souvenir photo on the viewpoint of Via Tragara and a visit to the Roman finds of the Villa of Tiberius.

What to see in Capri in 3 days.

Immerse yourself in the relaxation and dolce vita caprese. Enjoy its colors, intoxicated with its scents and admire the lush nature that invades the island in all its splendor. Wear a light dress and a pair of bikinis and let yourself be carried away by the magic of Capri.
